Life Messages™ Book of Inspirational Canadian Women

Photographer Laurie Goodman created the inspirational Life Messages™ photo shoots. Woman after woman has come to Goodman’s quiet and comfortable loft studio space, settled in, and talked to her about what has led them to their life messages. They write the message in white on black paper and sign it, then Goodman takes their picture. The messages are the words of women who have battled cancer or fled abusive situations, been overcome by the love of a child or found fulfilment in business.
When I thought of the idea for this book, I was asked “Who will tell you their story? I wouldn’t tell you my story. Business is all about money. It’s all been said before.” Let me tell you, this rebel heart was not dissuaded and had other plans.
My enterprising peers inspire others to have faith in humanity and to take their own unique action for the good of their world. They move me to take action. They move me to share the stories and voices of believers and doers, creating a legacy of leadership through this book.

I’m the first to agree with the age old adage that a book can’t be judged by its cover but in this particular instance, the cover truly is an invitation to experience inspirational delights and wisdom within the pages of Laurie Goodman’s book, Enterprising Hearts, the third in her Life Messages series. Goodman’s photographic gifts as an expert lens manipulator are evident as is her sincerity in the letters she writes about the individual ‘business owners with a heart.’ There are other written contributors as well and the book’s purpose – to uplift, to inspire, and to shine a light of hope in our sometimes otherwise dark world are beautifully apparent.
Beautifully crafted book that is impossible to put down.
Enterprising Hearts is beautifully crafted. From the moment one picks it up, with the feel of the inspirational cover by artist Laura Newton, to the quality of the prints and pages inside, to the heart felt messages from Laurie and the messages from the participants, one is unable to put it down. It is not widely recognized that entrepreneurs, whilst working tirelessly on their businesses, have the capacity give back to their communities. This book recognizes small business owners who have a social conscience, a conscience that is at the very core of their being. This book would be a perfect addition to any coffee table, board room, waiting room, library, and collection. Whilst I am also a contributor in this book I still hope you enjoy reading it as much as I have.
